Trying to make a Christmas Ball-ball in 'Blender'!

Its a band new program for me so at the moment its a bit mind boggling! I am limited to simple shapes like Ball-balls and Balloons!

Will Keep you updated on my progress. So far its taking me an age but i'm sure i will get there eventually!

Cinematography and Set Design

Cinematography Inspiration

I am finding it very useful to research cinematography for inspiration for my designs. With my current studio work i have found that studying cinematography has advanced my understanding of the relationship between the design and the story.

With my work i want to be able to enhance the story with the design.

Here is a selection of images from artists such as Edward Hopper and Johannes Vermeer. Photographers and films such as Wuthering Heights, Hamlet, Psycho, Harry Potter, Black Swan, The Shinning, Shutter Island and Citizen Cane

Exhibitions to see!

Grayson Perry 'The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman'

I just went to see the Grayson Perry exhibition at 'The British Museum'. His exhibition was the most beautiful, intriguing, and fun exhibition that i have been to see in a long time. If you have not seen it go and see it!

His collection of work in this exhibition all focuses on the...i guess the best word to describe it is religion, or world that Perry created as a young boy. The central figure being his bear Andy Measles. The character of Andy plays a vital role throughout the collection.

What i really loved about his work and the exhibition was that it was in one of Perry's favourite museums...The British Museum. He described it as being able to step out of London into the rest of the world. Along side his work was displayed artefacts, objects and art from the Museums collection that inspired that piece of work.

There is so much to say about it and i know that i wont be able to do his work justice with my rambling but here is a selection of images of the exhibition.

Collages and Design

To develop my designs quickly but also so they communicate my vision of the film i have been creating little collages of my reference to give an overview of shape, colour and texture.
